Announcing The Kim Novak Blogathon: A 90th Birthday Celebration!!

Friends, get ready to don your finest, for a party is coming your way…

That’s right, it’s time once again to celebrate the wonderful Kim Novak and her contributions to the arts! And this year its a big one…on February 13, 2023 Miss Novak will reach her 90th birthday!!

I can’t believe this will be our second year (already!?) having this event. We had a terrific time last year, so if you weren’t able to join us, I encourage you to stop by for inspiration, great reading, and a little taste test of what’s to come.

Born on February 13, 1933, Marilyn Pauline Novak was an early Valentine’s Day gift to the world.

Kim was Columbia’s answer to Fox’s Marilyn Monroe and a replacement for their reigning queen, Rita Hayworth, but Columbia wasn’t entirely prepared for the free spirit who walked through their doors.

Kim Novak with husband Robert Malloy.

Standing up to studio moguls, starting her own production company, then turning her back on the town which brought her fame, she chose a peaceful life as a veterinarian’s wife in Oregon.

Once torn apart by the critics, she is now praised for her performances in classics such as Vertigo, The Man with the Golden Arm, and Picnic. When audiences appreciated her talent and sensitivity, they learned that her beauty extends to her soul and spirit.

And now they see Kim Novak as she really is – a multi-faceted star that time cannot diminish.

Please join me in celebrating the 90th birthday of this remarkable lady.

She deserves all the love we can give her.
